STAFFORD, David A. (I39521)

105970 Orphaned. Raised by a member of the Clark Family in Woodstock, CT.

Lucy Ann Stafford, sister of David Stafford and daughter of Amanuel and
Sophia, was born in Woodstock, Ct, but she is definitely not the same Lucy
Lomis that lived in RI, married to Henry Lomis with a child, Georgianna.
The last name is even spelled differently. This should be corrected in your
records. The Lucy Ann Stafford of this line (my gg-aunt) was born in
Woodstock, Ct., and went to the Providence area in the 1860's. She was
working as a housekeeper in the mid-1860's in providence, according to the
census. She then followed James and Eliza Stafford (her cousins) to
Holyoke, MA, where she met and married Eli Lomas. (Holyoke marriage
records). She married later in life, and she and Eli had no children. He only
lived a few years after their marriage, and she died in 1910. Her cousin
John B. Stafford (son of Willilam) was living with her in 1900, according to
the census of Holyoke. She corresponded with my g-aunt, Edna Stafford, and
I have a postcard she sent her. (Census records, marriage records, and her
death record all corroborate this. Jerry E. Lobland
