105970 | Orphaned. Raised by a member of the Clark Family in Woodstock, CT. Lucy Ann Stafford, sister of David Stafford and daughter of Amanuel and Sophia, was born in Woodstock, Ct, but she is definitely not the same Lucy Lomis that lived in RI, married to Henry Lomis with a child, Georgianna. The last name is even spelled differently. This should be corrected in your records. The Lucy Ann Stafford of this line (my gg-aunt) was born in Woodstock, Ct., and went to the Providence area in the 1860's. She was working as a housekeeper in the mid-1860's in providence, according to the census. She then followed James and Eliza Stafford (her cousins) to Holyoke, MA, where she met and married Eli Lomas. (Holyoke marriage records). She married later in life, and she and Eli had no children. He only lived a few years after their marriage, and she died in 1910. Her cousin John B. Stafford (son of Willilam) was living with her in 1900, according to the census of Holyoke. She corresponded with my g-aunt, Edna Stafford, and I have a postcard she sent her. (Census records, marriage records, and her death record all corroborate this. Jerry E. Lobland | STAFFORD, Lucy Ann (I39520)

105983 | Orthaniel had 8 children. 7. OTHENIEL5 ALLEN, (Jedediah4, Increase3, Ralph2, George1), was born 15 Jan. 1731 in Dartmouth and m. in Newport, RI 15 Feb. 1758, Keziah, b. 6 April 1741, dau. of Abraham and Ruth (Wood) Stafford. Othniel Allen came to Beekman in 1760 when he first appeared on the tax list [at £i] and he was recorded as of Oswego in the 1760 list of Quakers. Othenial Allen sued Philip Linderbeck Oct. 1764 & Oct. 1765. [CP]. On 13 April 1762 he and Stephen Potter, (his brother- in-law), both of Beekman, purchased 305 acres of land in Charlotte. Isaiah Wildy and Elizabeth of Charlotte were the sellers and the land was in lot 5. The deed [4:279] states that they have 1/3 part of the lot which is 1/4 of lot 5. The bounds were the Wappingers Creek and the line of lot 5 and 6 and lot 2 of lot 5. The cost to Potter and Allen was £750. On 2 May 1762 Othniel Allen sold to Stephen Potter 148 acres off of this piece [D 4:282]. Othniel Allen took a mortgage on this land on 12 May 1764 from Robert G. Livingston for £96 at 7% interest. The mortgage was paid up on 3 Dec. 1778 [M 2:18]. Othniel Allen was taxed in Charlotte from June 1765 until 1779. His 1790 census listing for Clinton Town was 2-0-3 and he was next to Timothy Conklin and Isaac L'Amoreux. He removed from the Creek Meeting to Easton by certificate of 20 May 1796.
