110070 | Robert "Bob" Neal Stafford, 97, of rural Attica, died at 11:43 a.m. on Monday, May 14, 2012, at the St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. Bob was born on September 10, 1914, in Ohio. He was the son of the late William Thomas and Blanche R. (Hushaw) Stafford and was raised by his grandparents after his mother's death. He moved south of Attica to the Hushaw farm and attended Attica High School. Bob married Mildred "Millie" L. Munson on August 12, 1950, in Attica. She preceded him in death on March 1, 2006. Bob worked as a farmer in Logan Township of Fountain County for most of his life, retiring at age 78. He had served as a Master Sergeant in the US Army Air Corp where he was a line chief maintaining P47's and B26's. He was a member of the VFW Post 3318 and the American Legion, both of Attica. He had also been a member of the Fountain Masonic Lodge, 60 F&AM of Covington. He had also been a member of the Attica First United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Blanche Ruth (husband-Richard) Anderson, of Attica; a son, Milton "Butch" L. (wife-Lorna) Sneller, of Orange, CA; two granddaughters, Stacy Sneller ,of Leona Valley, CA and Cindy Sneller of Anaheim, CA; and a sister-in-law, Lila "Sandy" Stafford, of Williamsport. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, George and Samuel Stafford, and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Stafford. Visitation will be held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Saturday, May 19, from 1:00 p.m. until the service time of 3:00 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
