Richard Trenton (Dick) Stafford was born in Peru, IN, and moved with his family to San Diego, CA in 1914. He grew up in San Diego and on the Lakeview ranch and went on to graduate from college and became a business administrator in the San Diego County school system. He acquired and rejuvenated two old vehicles as a hobby. He died of a rare liver disease in 1961 at age 47.
