1871 | Dale Samuel Stafford, was the son of Samuel Harold Stafford and Florence (Leeding) Stafford. He farmed all of his lifetime on the family farm at rural Scandia. He and Marjorie Ilene Carpenter were married December 22, 1945. To them were born three Patricia, Dennis, and Roger. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters: Marjorie, Rosalyn, Ruby, and Betty, and a grandson: Gregory Dale Stafford. Dale is survived by his wife Marjorie Stafford; his daughter, Patricia E. 1872 | Dallas Ray Stafford, 83, passed away on June 22, 2010 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. He was born Feb. 28, 1927 in Dyersburg, Tenn., to Willie Mae and Grover Stafford. Dallas lived in Tennessee with his dad, and they traveled around to work before he went into the Army. After that, he came to California where he worked as a cannery worker in Thornton and met his wife, Lillie. He later drove for Lodi City Cab, then Dial-a-Ride for 27 years before retiring. Dallas lived in the Lodi and Galt area for many years. Dallas was a very friendly and caring person, and he loved to tell jokes. He also loved God and his family very much. He loved family gatherings and all the grandchildren. He made many friends and was loved by all. Dallas and his wife Lillie attended Full Gospel Community Church in Elk Grove with Pastor Allen Daniels as their pastor for many years. Dallas was well taken care of and loved by the staff at Austin Gardens for the last six months. He will be truly missed but forever and always remembered. Surviving are three sons, Don Syrock, Charles Syrock and Gary Syrock; two daughters, Beverly Miller and Mary Fernandez; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Benny Stafford of Chicago; and sister, Christine Daniels of Dyersburg, Tenn. Dallas was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Stafford; two brothers, Wilson and Jr. Stafford; sister, Evelyn McLaughlin; son, Melford Syrock; and two grandsons, Dallas Syrock and Tim Miller. He was a retired truck driver for the Armour Meat Company, born in Liberty, Kentucky, son of the late Frank Marion and Dora Lee Games Stafford and he was a member of Gardenside Christian Church. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, William Jay Stafford [Geri], Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, Larry Sweeney Stafford [Sharon], Lexington, one brother, Estill Stafford, Edinburg, Indiana, one granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn Anderson [ Paul William Anderson, II], two great grandchildren, Paul William Anderson, III [Trey], Hannah Mae Anderson all of Lexington, three step-granddaughters, Diana Peak, Lexington, Michelle Galliher, Waco, Texas, Edie Flores [ Steve] and one step-great grandson, Pablo Flores all of San Antonio, Texas. Funeral services will be noon Friday at the W.R.Milward Mortuary-Southland conducted by Rev. Joe Bob Grider with burial in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens, Jessamine County. She married Orson N Stafford on August 29, 1841, in Rochester, IL. They had one daughter, Emma, who died at the age of 1 year in 1855. Elizabeth died in St. Augustine, Florida, where she and her husband had retired.
