18672	Died June 18, 2005 in Virginia Beach, VA. A native of El Paso TX, he was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Claire Lambeth Stafford. He attended the Texas School of Mines (now the University of Texas at El Paso) and was graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering. He subsequently did graduate work at Harvard and MIT. During World War II he served as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Army Signal Corps. During the Korean War he served as a Captain in the United States Air Force. In a long career in government service, he worked for the Rural Electrification Administration (REA), for NASA where he was a project engineer for an early communications satellite (SYNCOM) and most significantly, he had a long career with the Central Intelligence Agency. He retired from the CIA in 1972. He was a past President of the National Capital Dahlia Society and won countless awards for his beautiful dahlias. He and his wife Claire were also senior judges of the Society. He was an award winning amateur photographer. He and he wife were active members of Walker Chapel Methodist Church in Arlington for over 50 years. He is survived by his daughter, his son and his wife, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services shall be conducted at the Walker Chapel Methodist Church cemetery on Glebe Road in Arlington, VA, on Thursday, June 24, 2005 at 3 p.m. where Harry will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife.
