I have been studying about you for some time it seem ed that I have a desire to hear from you one time more. I guess you will r ecollect me although I was small when you first left this state. I am Jose ph S. Swaim’s third daughter and was married to David R. Stafford the fa ll uncle was in this country visiting. There is none of the family in this state except myself. Columbus is in Mi ssouri. Mary, Lee, Eliza, Cicero, Rufus, is in Kansas. Sarah V. is in Okla homa Territory. They are all married and have families except Mary. S he is single yet. I will say something about the relations. Mother died s ix years ago the 17 of July last. Aunts, brothers and sisters are all d ed except Aunt Letty Brown. She lives in Old Salem four of her children li ve there also. There is none of Uncle William Idols children living in th is state. Matthew was the only one left here. He died about ten years ag o. As to Uncle John’s children, John lives in the mountains. Esther Ella a nd Anderson is still in the old neighborhood one of John. Glasscocks so ns owns and lives at the grandfather Idol’s old place. There is only t wo of the old neighbors living and that is Sarah Idol and Patty Idol th ey are both pert. Aunt Polly Atkins is poorly. I went and staid two days a nd nights with her. She sayes she had no one to look too as she have outli ved all of two families except one grandson of uncle Josiah. My daughter B ertie is staying with her at present. Uncle Isaac and Aunt Linda Hamm er is living yet. Uncle Isaac is very feeble. Aunt Linda is as pert as a c ricket or was when she was to see me last.
