Laura prepared for college in the National Normal School of Lebanon, Ohio and entered Oberlin in 1875 as a second year student. After graduating from Oberlin in 1878, Laura taught for 2 years in Wakeman, Ohio. Laura writes that the influence of Oberlin on her life was: " being obliged to go to church every Sunday formed a habit never forgotten."
Laura and Burnett were married on June 6, 1880, in Wakeman, Ohio, which is near Oberlin. (one notes says married in Piqua, Ohio) He was of the Theological graduating class of 1880.

1864- (12 years old) joined the Cambleite denomination. A man named Camble was the founder and it progressed to become one half of the Disciples of Christ. Stone was the other founder of DOC. He repudiated this " heresy" in1876, one year after graduating from Hiram College and joined the Congregational Church.
1870 a student in East Cleveland Ohio. The 1870 Federal Census shows B.T. as an 18 year old student, living in East Cleveland. Father, mother and much family buried in E. Cleveland Presbyterian Cemetery.
1875-Graduated Hiram College,B.A. Hiram was founded in 1850 as the Western Reserve Eclectic Institute by the Disciples of Christ and was still associated with that religious movement in 1875 when BT graduated.
1877-started at Oberlin Divinity School
Laura and Burnett were married on June 6, 1880. (24 days before his 28th birthday)
He was graduated with Bach..of Div. from the Dept of Theology Oberlin Univ. class of 1880. June 9,1880

1885 Jan. committee appointed to work for the establishment of a Sunday School and Chautauqua. The Rev. B.T. Stafford was made the chairman.
1885: Rollins College (in Winter Park, FL) is founded. B.T. Stafford was on the original (charter member) Board of Trustees of Rollins. He served from 4/8/1885 until 2/15/1893.

On November 30,1892 BT took the train from Zellwood FL to Orlando. I have the ticket in the scrap book. It was for on the Florida Central & Peninsular Railroad.

Another Florida ticket on the Atlantic & Western RY from O'City to New Smyrma and return. He used this Feburary 8, 1893. (In scrap book)

I also have a ticket dated January 22, 1894 on the New York, Chicago & St. Louis R.R. Co. BT was at Smyrna,N.Y. at the time. (In scrap book)

A little story. Kenneth Bush Sr. always told this story to me and I don't know how many times. It was prohibition and no drinking in our country. The Rochester, Syracuse and Eastern trolley ran thru Jordan. A box came in for The Rev. B. T. Stafford labeled all over "Bibles". The box had been slightly damaged and the "Bibles" were leaking all over the floor. Needless to say the "Bibles" smelled like wine.

B.T. also lectured at other schools including Colgate and Hamilton College.
