  called Nanna by all. She was a great lady whose home was Germantown,NY and she is buried there in the Dutch Reform Church cemetery. The Lashers lived in Albion NY quite a whie as Henry sold fruit baskets and supplies to the fruit farmers along the Ridge. Lorinda says he was a bit of playboy as the family was gone all summer to Germantown every year. Nanna attended Vassar College for women, Class of 1898 but she left before graduating in 1897. She was the first woman to hold elective office NY state. It was to the school board and it was in Albion, NY. A few little noets from Lorinda. Nanna lived with the Johnson at least 11 or 12 years and that's whre she died. She, Nanna told the little stories to her.Nanna was in the hammock one day and a neighbor came by and asked her if she was going to marry Henry Lasher and she said yes. The man sain he's a farmer and your life is going to change and you'll have to tend and milk the cows. She said I don't know how and I'm not going to learn. Nanna was young and had just married when window screening was invented and they had it on some of the windows. Her neighbor said she'd never have screens as she didn't want her air sifted. She was a real Christian lady and really knew her Bible. She had read it through quite a few times.
