Obituary,
Saginaw Herold, January 30, 1948:
Charles J. Brickel, age 62, passed away at his home Friday evening. He was born December 8, 1885 in Buena Vista Township and has lived there all his life. He was married to Miss Mabel Crandall in 1906, she passed away in 1920. In 1925 he married Hilda Stafford, who survives him. He has been employed by the H.E. Ysberg Plumbing and Heating Firm for the past 25 years, and has worked on many of the Consumer Power Company's steam generating plants throughout the state. He was a member of the Plumber's and Steam Fitter's Local No. 85.
Besides his wife, he leaves four daughters and four sons: Mrs. Lawrence Moeller, Detroit; Mrs. Chester Corbin, Mrs. Lawrence Cook, both of Royal Oak; Mrs. Thurman O'Neal, Albany, N.Y.; Charles, Jr. of Dearborn, Jack W. at home; Cpl. Richard S. Brickel with the Marine Air Corps in Hawaii; Pvt. 1st Class Robert E. Brickel with the Army Air Force at Chanute Field, Ill. One sister, Mrs. Mary Crandall, Saginaw.
