Clara A. Kazmier age 86 years. Died Friday, September 12, 2003 at Genesys Health Park....Clara was born in Montrose Township on October 27, 1916 to the late Walter and Harriet (Stafford) Tomkinson who were farmers on an 80-acre farm located on the corner of Elms and Lake Roads. Lifetime friends who born and grew up on neighboring farms are Janet (Fent) Collar and Donna (Stoolmaker) Dennis. Doris Edwards (deceased) was her neighbor and friend for 60 years. Clara was married to Albert Kazmier on January 1, 1935: he preceded her in death on April 4, 1960. She was an avid reader and was always currnt on local and national happenings including politics. Her discussions about politics with Eugene Collar (one of her best friends) were always fun and very animated. She was always interested in the study of weather. Clara was an active participant in the People-to-People Program where she developed solid, lasting friendships with people in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Abergavenny, South Wales. She visited them several times and they came to visit her.
Surviving are son, Daryl of Clio: nephews, James Tomkinson and wife Norma, Don Tomkinson and wife Stella: nieces, Mary Tomkinson and Betty Babinski and husband Ed, Keely Dennis, Diane Totten, Lucy Karas, Garnet Morgan, Maureen McMahon, Bill McQuarters, and Jerry Adams and a host of other people in her life contributed greatly to the wonderful life she enjoyed. Nancy and Al Chappel of Las Vegas along with their two daughters, Wanda Allen of Bullhead City, Arisonz and Tami Petitt of North Branch were her extended family. She considered Nancy and Al as her own, right along with their daughters. They contributed terrifically to her enjoyment of life. She was preceded in death by a brother, Laverne Tomkinson and her sister-in-law, Velva (Clements) Tomkinson.....
