  1920 census he is listed as Donald E. Article in Clio Messenger regarding his marriage in 1943 lists him as Donald Leroy. "Down Memory Lane, Stories of the Clio Area" lists him as Donald L. Scott. The article on the history of banking in the Clio area gives many mentions of him. The following information was gathered from that article. Donald's employment with the Clio State Bank began in 1938. He took three years leave of absence to serve in the Navy from 1941-1943. Served on the cruiser "Helena" which was sunk and he was a survivor. Assigned to the battleship "California" which had been raised from the bottom of Pearl Harbor. Became assistant cashier of the bank in 1947. Served on board of directors for 25 years. Retired from the bank in 1978 after 40 years of service. Served 6 years on the Clio City Commission.
