Funeral services for Vincent Frederick "Vince" May, 88, retired farmer, and former magistrate were held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Bennett-May Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Lloyd L. Hickman and the Rev. Samue Creamer. Burial took place in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Mr. May died Monday morning, June 7, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Conrad Sawyers, Fayetteville, where he had resided for several years.
A native of Giles County, he was born April 17, 1877, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. H. May.
Mr. May had served as magistrate of the Fifth Civil District in Giles County for a period of 18 years.
In addition to the daughter, Mr. May is survived by one son, Harvey May, Elkton; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, Jeff May, Tioga, Texas; and one sister, Mrs. John Hazelwood, Chattanooga.
