- William Walsh Brownfield owned and operated a distillery in Buffalo, Larue
County, Kentucky. He also operated an extensive stable and was known to
have stood to the public the well-known stud Prince of Nolynn, a 16 hand
bay stallion foaled in 1883 by Lightfoot out of Moss Rose. During the 1889
season, Prince of Nolynn stood at stud for $10.00. Sometime after 1893,
William Walsh Brownfield and his wife, Matilda Hannah Chruchill, moved to
Marion, Alabama to improve his health. Marion, Alabama was the home of
their daughter and her husband Pressley Moore Wilkerson.
