MARTINSBURG WVa.- Rita Darlene (Stafford) McDonald, 70, of Martinsburg WVa., passed away on Monday May 6, 2013 at her home.
Born on November 17, 1942, in Cumberland she was the daughter of Beulah A. (Barger) and the late Joseph M. Stafford.
Rita was the only daughter of six siblings.
Rita spent the majority of her life living and working in Paw Paw, WVa. She retired from the Morgan County Public School System after 32 years of service. Rita loved spending time with her family and her children, she will be sadly missed by all of them.
Surviving in addition to her mother is her husband James "Jim" McDonald whom she married on June 8, 1960 and spent 53 wonderful years with; her children James McDonald Jr. and wife Lisa of Alexandria Va., and Jodie Steffee and husband David of Huntingtown; five grandchildren James McDonald III, John McDonald, Lauren McDonald, Joseph Steffee, and Sara Beth Steffee; five brothers Johnny Stafford, Doug Stafford, Steve Stafford, Rocky Stafford and Mark Stafford.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A. 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland (www.scarpellifh.com) on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating.
