Dunn 1930 WV, Wood County, Tygart, page 147a: C.H. & Bessie Dunn FROM SHAWNA ASHENDEN, 8-2005 have at least two letters from Bessie Dunn written to my Aunt Ethel Eag le and Great Grandfather Theodore Eagle. Aunt Ethel was his middle daught er and lived with him. In one letter dated March 11, 1963 she is writi ng my grandfather because she saw in the paper that he was ill in the hosp ital. They seem to have placed a lot of personal information in the pap er in those days. My Aunts saved a lot of clippings. In this letter she me ntions that Howard had the flu and that she did not feel well. She tri ed to find my grandfather's phone number in the "telephone directory", b ut he did not have a phone. She mentions that her "baby Garnett" liv ed in Sarasota,Florida, where "they" bought a home. Signed "Bessie and Ho ward". In the second letter dated December 19, 1967 signed only by Bessie, she me ntions that her eyes and hands "so bad". Ralph had cancer. "Baby Garnet t" flew in to see him. Bessie mentions a "she" who was coming to see him x mas if she could get reservation on the plane. "so many were ahead of he r. She lives in Sarasota, Florida." Kathleen lived in Mississippi. My Aunt Ethel and Erma Eagle died a few years back and I recently obtain ed many of their stored letters, cards, newspaper clippings, pictures, et c. There is a lot of stuff to explore, so theremay be more letters from B essie to find. Also there is a Foster E.Dunn who wrote 2 letters to Ethel in 1948 and 194 9, as well as, 2 letters to Theodore in 1951 from the Moundsville Priso n. He was an inmate there. His writing is hard to interpret, but he is ask ing them to send him a radio and cigerettes. Iam not sure if my Aunt answ ers him. He refers to my grandfather as Sir.
