  She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Rowland. She came to this country when eight years of age. For 28 years she was a resident of New York Mills. She came to Ilion in1881, where she has since made her home. She was married to Benjamin Stafford at Ilion on September 5, 1894. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Stephen Gunston of Ilion and one brother, William H. Rowland of Syracuse.
