- Obituary of Grant Corwin Stafford, DAYTON DAILY NEWS; 1973; film dtd 11 Aug 1973; p 10; Montgomery Co Public Library, Dayton OH."***STAFFORD, GRANT CORWIN, age 81, formerly of Dayton, passed away Thursday [9 Aug 1973] in Detroit. He is survived by his wife Dolores; 1 daughter, Nancy Hager, of Livonia, Mich.; 2 grandchildren, David Hager, of Livonia, MI, and Mrs. Carolyn Renaud, of Pontiac, MI; 4 great-grandchildren, David and Stephen Hager, and Michelle and Jimmy Renaud.He was a well-known Dayton barber for 43 years. He last owned a barber shop at 128 E. Third St. for 16 years until ill health forced his retirement. He was born in New Carlisle, O., Feb 5 1892, and was graduated from New Carlisle High School in 1911. His parents, will be remembered as well-known owners and trainers of race horses.He was married to Dolores Maree (nee Kirby) in 1913, and in 1916 they moved from New Carlisle to Dayton. In 1950 they moved to Carey, O., and in 1962 to Cape Cod, Mass. to be with their daughter and family. They have resided in Detroit, Mich. since 1963. Funeral services 1:00 p.m. Monday, Tobias Funeral Home, 548 Watervliet Ave [Dayton, OH]; interment New Carlisle Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-6 p.m. Sunday."
