• Notes

  Arrived in NZ on ship Forfarshire at Auckland 8 July 1875 with sister Ann and mother Ellen. In 1881 sued Mr Robert Hood for the sum of two pounds and twelve shillings for a saddle, at KawaKawa, and won the case. 7th May 1900 his house burns down and he sends a telegram to Constable Brown at Russell which says "James Spratt reported his house destroyed by fire and says it must be wilfully done as the place is isolated, nobody living in building, no insurance.
