Louise L. Stafford

Louise L. Stafford, 92, of Reading died Friday, September 11, 2009, at Northern Lakes Nursing Center in Angola, Ind.
Mrs. Stafford had formerly been employed as a nurses' aide at the Coldwater State Home. She had also worked at a garden nursery outside Reading for many years prior to her retirement.
She graduated from Orland High School and had attended Hillsdale College.
She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, praying and reading the Bible. Mrs. Stafford was born May 23, 1917, in Jackson Township, Steuben County, Ind., to Harold D. and Velma (Riemke) Brown. She married Mearl R. Stafford on August 31, 1935. He preceded her in death on December 1, 1971.
Surviving are two grandchildren and a spouse, Steve and Terri Newnam of Westfield, Ind., and Sylvia Renee Newnam of Burbank, Calif,; two great-grandchildren and a spouse, Jonathan Mearl Newnam and Karen and Jeremiah Wood; and a son-in-law, Lewis Newnam.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Dorthea Newnam; a sister, Kathryn Foar; and a brother, Chester A. Brown.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, September 21, 2009, at Beams Funeral Home in Fremont, Ind., with Pastor Dvid Cole officiating.
Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Reading, Mich.Visitation will be from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Monday, September 21, 2009, at Beams Funeral Home
