  Mrs. Elsie Stafford Brooks, 76, widow of Avery Brooks, died at her home, 66 Miles St., Union City, Saturday, March 11. She was born in Crawford County, March 6, 1896, the daughter of Merritt and Jennie Skiff Stafford. She was a member of the former Maple Grove Church and attended the Nazarene churches of Riceville, and Union City.  She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Josie) Parkins, of Union City; two sons, Walter Brooks of Centerville, RD 3, and Henry Brooks of Waterford, RD 5. Ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother, Maurice Stafford. Friends may call at the Glenn Funeral Home, Union City, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and attend the funeral service there Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ronald Kelly and Rev.
