  Services for Elgene Turner, 87, of Lubbock, will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel. Burial will follow at Resthaven. Mrs. Turner passed away on Thursday, December 15th.  Elgene was born on May 9, 1924 in Slope County, North Dakota to Elmer and Frieda Wegner Stafford. She married Bernell Turner in Spokane, Washington in 1944. She was a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and had been a resident of Lubbock since in 1945.  She was preceded in death by her husband in September of 1977; a son, Mark in 1949; two brothers, Bud and Lawrence; and one sister, June. Survivors include two sons, Ron of California and Dean of Albuquerque; two daughters, Teresa of Lubbock and Connie of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four sisters, Marjorie, Marion, Arline, and Glorianne; three grandchildren, Mark, Becky and Eva; and three great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kirsten, and Noah.
