  Mrs. Orell E. Stafford, 69, of Anderson, Ind., formerly of Portageville, died June 13, 1989 at St. John's Medical Center after an extended illness. Born in Covington, Tenn., she was the daughter of John W. and Cora Leach Smith. She and her husband had pastored for 49 years with the Church of God in Missouri, Arkansas, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Oklahoma and Ohio. Since retirement, they had served as interim pastors at various Churches of God. She is survived by her husband, the Rev. D.C. Stafford of Anderson; Three sons, Dr. Gilbert W. Stafford of Anderson, Dr. Larry D. Stafford of Silver Spring, Md. and the Rev. Rodney K. Stafford of Fairfax, Va.; Two sisters, Mrs. Audrey Hatchel of Portageville and Mrs. Mary Ruth Pery of Hayti; And six grandchildren. Services were June 15 at South Meridian Church of God, the Rev. Gary Ausbun and the Rev. Forrest Carlson officiating, with burial in East Maplewood Cemetery in Indiana. SON: Gilbert Wayne Stafford (1938-2008) Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson, Ind.
