Services for Veasie McClain Stafford, 61, were conducted at Scotland Baptist Church at p. m. Sunday, August 13th, by Rev. J. M. Metts, assisted by Rev. Bob Lowe and Dr. Claude Bowen of Greensboro, North Carolina. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Stafford died at the Foster General Hospital at 5 p. m. Friday, August 11. Surviving him are his wife, the former Nora Sandifer of Wesson; his mother, Mrs. R. A. Stafford, Winona; five sisters, Mrs. W. M. Gordon and Mrs. C. B. Bowen, both of Memphis, Mrs. Howard Castile of Magee, Miss., Mrs. Jerome Post of Tallulah, La., and Mrs. Robert Reese of Winona; three brothers, Robert Stafford of Grayson, La., Scott Stafford of New Orleans, La,, and Ed Stafford of Winona.
The deceased served in World War I, was a member of the Baptist Church, and a Mason.
