A. DEWEY SCOTT
(1898-1956)
A. Dewey Scott, 57, of Minford Rt. 1 died today at 5 a.m. at the home of a brother, Vernon Scott of Bradenton, Fla. He had been in Florida the last week.
Mr. Scott had been ill nine years.
A Scioto County resident the last 32 years, Mr. Scott was born July 25, 1898, in Pike County, Ky., a son of the late Henderson and Cholanne Stafford Scott.
He was employed as a machinist by the Norfolk & Western Railway until illness forced retirement in 1947. He joined the N&W at Williamson, W.Va., in 1919.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Effie Edmiston Scott; three sons, Jack Scott of Minford Rt. 1, Tinnis Scott of Cedarville, Ohio, and Connie Scott of Minford; two stepsons, Curtis Hunt of Lucasville Rt. 4, and Ernest Hunt of Minford; two brothers, Fred of Hardy, Ky., and Vernon; and 13 grandchildren.
The parents, two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
Mr. Scott was a member of Chapel Baptist Church at Bradenton, Lucasville Masonic Lodge and Minford Grange. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Erwin-Dodson Funeral Home.

Funeral services for A. Dewey Scott, 57, of Minford Rt. 1, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Minford Methodist Church.
Rev. Julius Chandler will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Burial Park under direction of Erwin-Dodson Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday and until 11:30 a.m. Sunday, when the body is to be moved to the church.
