- ZEIGLER -- Vina E. Hall, 84, of Zeigler, died at 3:14 a.m. Sunday, July 18, 2004, at home. Vina was born July 6, 1920, in Double Springs, Tenn., to Roland B. and Emily E. (Hamlet) Stafford. She married Noel R. Hall on Oct. 9, 1936, in West Frankfort. He survives in Zeigler. She was a loving mother and grandmother to a daughter and son-in-law, Sondra and Mike Podolski of Parkview, Iowa; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Carol Hall of Royalton and Jerry and Carol Hall of Zeigler; eight grandchildren, Tammy and Tony Deutscher of Thompson; Renee and Bill Stebbins and Carey and Yolanda Podolski all of Savanna, Sheryl and Rich Taylor of Kewanee, Wis., James Hall of Raleigh, N.C., Amy and Jim Flood and Leon Hall all of Zeigler and Lara and Doug Rathbun of Carlock; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Her parents, two brothers, Jack and Buster Stafford and three sisters, Lillian Lakso, Thelma Funkhouser and Martha Williams preceded her in death. Vina was a Protestant. She retired from Allen Industries in Herrin and was a homemaker. Services for Mrs. Hall will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Vantrease Funeral Home in Zeigler, with Brother John Arvai officiating. Burial will be at Zeigler Cemetery. Visiting hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Hall may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
