GAINESBORO — Funeral services for Agnes Loftis Martin, 88, of the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 28, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burial will be in John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends today, Monday, Feb. 27, from 4-9 p.m., and again on Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
Mrs. Martin passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, at Bethesda Health Care Center in Cookeville.
Mrs. Martin was born July 12, 1928, in Jackson County, to the late Herod Loftis and Flossie B. Loftis. She married Lewis Martin Jr. Jan. 25, 1949. Mr. Martin passed away May 5, 2015.
She was a homemaker, and a member of the McCoinsville Church of Christ.
She is survived by two brothers, J. L. Loftis and Herod “Whitey” (Linda) Loftis, Jr., all of Gainesboro; two sisters, Lucille Mansell of Cookeville, and Betty Heady of Lebanon. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Martin, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Johnnie Long; and seven brothers.
