HARTFORD -- Orville Himes, 92, of Hartford, died at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at Professional Care Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hartford.
He was born April 13, 1913, in Ohio County to the late John Robert Himes and Charlotte Hamlett Himes.
He retired from Ohio County Hospital Maintenance and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and had served in the South Pacific.
He was a member of Hartford United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of American Legion Post 55 in Ohio County, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1543 in Hartford and VETS Post 117.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce "Dottie" Leach Himes of Hartford;
four sons, Paul Himes and wife Shirley of Beaver Dam, Lynn L. Himes and wife Elaine of Hartford, Roger Himes and wife Patricia of Hartford and George Himes and wife Pamela of Owensboro; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren;
and a sister, Beatrice Himes Bratcher of Hartford.
Services are at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford with full military honors.
