Funeral services for Mrs. Ofa Jackson Bailey, 76, of Gainesboro, were conducted Monday, August 25, at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home with Bro. James Paul Anderson and Bro. Wally Kirby officiating.
Interment was in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone Community of Jackson County.
Mrs. Bailey passed away Friday afternoon, August 22, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Gainesboro Church of Christ.
Born August 19, 1921, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Bailey M. and Ada Jo Burroughs Jackson.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Edmond "Buddy" Bailey, step-mother, Maude Jackson, two brothers, Clarence Jackson and Joseph Howard Jackson; two sisters, Josie Jackson Smith and Sophia Jackson Hawkins.
Survivors incude her husband, Freeman Bailey of Gainesboro; two daughters, Frances Morris of Lakewood, California, and Joan Philpot of Columbia, South Carolina; two half-sisters, Eva Haney and Judy Jones, both of Gainesboro; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Anderson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
