Stafford, 82, of Crossville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville with Bro. Kenneth Young officiating. Burial was in Smith Chapel Cemetery with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Stafford died Friday, Dec. 7 at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. He was a farmer. Born December 12, 1918, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Hershel and Maggie (Smith) Stafford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Stella Stafford, Mattie Davidson, and Lucille Garrett; and three brothers, Ensel Stafford, Elijah Stafford, and Joe Stafford. Survivors include a brother, Johnny Stafford, Cookeville; and other family members. Pallbearers were Lynn Miller, Ricky Stafford, Charlie Flynn, Keith Martin, Matthew Williams, Boyd Flowers, Louis Davidson, and Charles Davidson."
