Funeral services for Mr. Cecil Ramsey, 79, of Goodlettsville, were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2001, from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro with Bro. H.S. Brown officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery in the New Hope Community of Jackson County with Anderson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Ramsey died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, at the Madison Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Madison. He was a retired machinist from Textron and a member of the Porter Heights Baptist Church in Nashville.
Born January 1, 1922, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late William H. and May (Stafford) Ramsey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Zollie Ramsey and Charles Ramsey; and
four sisters, Ina Rose Ramsey, Joann Ramsey, Juanita Ramsey, and Alvie Scott.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma (Smith) Ramsey, Goodlettsville;
a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Bonnie Ramsey, Goodlettsville;
a daughter, Patricia Ramsey, LaVergne;
a stepdaughter, Paulette Board, Goodlettsville;
a brother, Willie J. Ramsey, Chicago, IL;
a half-brother, Harold Ramsey, Hilham;
a sister, Lola Alexander, Byhalia, MS;
a half-sister, Opal Ayers, Hilham;
six grandchildren, Angela Ramsey, Ryan Ramsey, Michelle Coving-ton, Eddie Lawson, Jennifer Wyatt, and Darryl Wyatt; and two great grandchildren, Jessica Covington and Conner Coving-ton.
