My grandfather wrote in his day book that his grandmother's name was Mary Ann Heady HOOD.
We have worked off the assumption that Abbe's husband was a cousin to Martha. We have no proof to the exact relationship but are quite sure they are related.

Mary Ann was Martha's mother. We believe Mary Ann married an ABBOTT first and then my ancestor.
There was Martha and another sister married Thornton STACY and a brother William ABBOTT. I don't believe Martha ever came to ILL but the other two did along with the 2nd family of HOOD's. John HOOD drown attempting to cross the Ohio River on their way to ILL. My ancestor, Samuel, was born after the widow got to Wayne Co, IL in Sept of 1840. When Samuel's brother Thomas died single here in Wayne Co IL the probate listed all the bro/sis which was very helpful. The probate record did list my Samuel as an ABBOTT, but that wss/is incorrect.
We always thought James Mathew & William were Abbe/Abigail's children.
