Chester Ronald Davis was born to Roy and Kate Nelson Davis on January 21, 1926 and passed away July 23 at Florence, South Carolina. Chester Davis and Bonnie Stafford were married at Goodhope Union Church on February 2, 1947. To this union two sons were born, Dewayne, of Spartenburg, South Carolina and Mark Davis, of Bishopville, South Carolina. Ronald served in the Navy during WWII. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie, of the home, Bishopville, South Carolina; two sons, Dewayne, and Lucinda Davis, A. J. and Cale, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Mark and Cindy Davis, Kelly and Nolan, of Bishopville, South Carolina; two brothers, Bob Davis, Hugoton, Kansas, Max Davis, Denton, Texas; three sisters, Erma Cudney, Velma Duckworth and Leora Graham, all of Ava. Memorial servcies will be held at the First General Baptist Church at Ava on Saturday, July 27, 10 a.m. Ronald wished that in lieu of flowers an offering be taken up for missions. Ronald donated his organs to the transplant team of Charleston, South Carolina. Services were held in Bishopville, South Carolina, July 25. Cremation to follow.
