Former Joplin Woman Ends Life With Gas At Springfield Home
Special to The Globe.
Springfield, MO. June 26--Mrs. Roma Foster, daughter of Mrs. E. L. Farrell of Joplin, ended her life this afternoon by taking gas at their home here.
Mrs. Foster was found by Lee Foster, her husband, semi-conscious in the kitchen. The range was turned on full force. She was taken to the Springfield hospital, but died a few minutes later.
The husband said they had had a petty quarrel early in the day, and that he believed that his wife had brooded over the difficulty until she was driven to suicide.
Mrs. Foster was 23 years old. She formerly lived at Joplin. She and her husband and their 18-months-old child have lived in Springfield several months. Mrs. Foster has a sister, Mrs. Pursselley, who lives at Webb City, and brother, Edward Farrell, who lives at Joplin.
