Bernice Sally Reaves Bernice Sally Reaves joined her family in Heaven on June 10, 2010, peacefully in her home.
She was born November 24, 1929, in Ongo, Missouri, to Cleveland and Stella Maggard.
Bernice was raised in the Oldfield area in Douglas County, Missouri.
She married Bill Lafferty in 1951, and from this union was born a daughter, Pat Barbee, of Springfield; two sons, Mike Lafferty of Strafford, and Dennis Lafferty of Republic. She is also survived by a step-son, Bob Reaves of Springfield.
Bernice was loved dearly by her eight grandchildren, Mandy, Brian, Brooke, Talor, Amie, Shelby, Nolan and step-granddaughter Reneta; great grandkids, Lauren, Kamren, Jackson, Killian, Brody, Landen, Keeghan, Eli, Sam and Stella Bernice;
sisters, Eula Short, Edith Maggard, and Janet Cokely; brothers, Ed Maggard and wife Pauline, Melvin Maggard and Mildred;
and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bernice graduated from SMS and taught school in Highlonesome. She retired from Dayco where she met and married Armold Reaves in 1974.
He preceded her in death as well as an infant son, Danny, her parents; a sister Goldie; and two brothers, Hosea, and Kenneth.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. John's Hospice for the loving care given to Bernice. Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, June 12, 2010, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Cecil Tolbert officiating. Burial will follow in Highlonesome Cemetery. . . .
