Buried:
- Juanita Stafford of Mitchell, IN, died Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehab Center. Born on March 29, 1914, she was the daughter of Elza and Gertrude (Jones) Carnahan. She married Clifford Stafford on May 21, 1938, and he preceded her in death on November 14, 1989.
Surviving are one son, Darrell Stafford and his wife, Marta, of Oceanside, CA; two daughters: Sue Canfield and her husband, Mike, of Mitchell, and Rose Houston and her husband, Gary, of Bloomington, IN; two sisters-in-law: Virginia Carnahan of Belleville, MI, and Peg Gilley of Washington; one brother-in-law, Lowell Evans of Washington; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Donald Joe Stafford; two brothers: Sidney and elbert Carnahan; and a sister, Violet Thorne Burton.
She was a former employee of Caudell's Variety Store, and a member of Aikman's Creek Baptist Church in Washington. She also attended Woodville Baptist Church.
Services for Juanita Stafford will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2003, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with the Reverend Glenn Hamer officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Jeremy Blanton, Scot Blanton, Travis Blanton, Greg Butler, Eric Canfield, Steve Canfield, Zach Canfield, and Matt Wilson.
