Cann, website "Large Branches, Small Twigs" David Loch16 was born in 1808 in Rockingham County, Virginia.10,16 He lived in Coshocton County, Ohio in 1829.10,16 He moved here with his parents. He owned a land grant for eighty acres of land in 1834 in Columbus, Bartholomew County, Indiana.10 After his father's death in 1834, he mov ed to Columbus along with other members of his family where he obtained the land grant from the government. He lived in Minnesota in 1855.16 He made a trip to Minnesota and settled there, then convinced his son, Lyman, and two nephews, Nelson Fitch and William Crowe to also move their families there. In 1865 he was Superintendent of the County Infirmary in Columbus, Bartholomew County, Indiana.10 During the time David was superintendent, he and his wife lost two sons in the Civil War. The trainmen stopped the train in the country near the infirmary and the bodies of John and Frank Loch were carried down the lane to the home of their parents. The county "paid much tribute to the Pennsylvania Railroad Company for this kindness." Parents: John Loch and Mary Ann Raider. Spouse: Adeline Stafford. David Loch and Adeline Stafford were married.10, 16 David and Adeline were the parents of 7 sons and 3 daughters. Two of th eir sons were killed in the Civil War.
