Buried:
- Died 2 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 1994, at her residence in Walker. She was 49, a native of Santa Rose, Calif., and a lifelong resident of Walker. She was employed by the Louisiana State Employees Retirement System.
Visiting was held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Visiting at the funeral home, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Religious services at Walker Baptist Church, at 2 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Mike Hegwood, the Rev. Dwayne Boudreaux, the Rev. Tony Blanchard and the Rev. Bill Boulton. Burial in Sibley Cemetery, Satsuma.
Survived by husband of 31 years, O.D. "Delree" Wascom; two daughters and sons-in-law, Denice and Bruce Freeman, Walker, Suerna and Richard Stafford, Walker; a son and daughter-in-law, Virgil "V.E." and Carolyn Wascom, Walker; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Miller, Denham Springs, and Kenneth Miller, Walker, Patricia and Gary Bublitz, Saginaw, Mich.; nine grandchildren, Randy Allen, Danielle Lee Cazalot, Landon Wayne Freeman, Heather Leigh and Austin Daley Stafford, Ra'Lee Katherine and Chase Edward Wascom, all of Walker, Cody Duane and Dale Wascom, Newport, Tenn.
Preceded in death by father, Virgil Stafford; brother, Harvey Rice Jr.; and grandmother, Katie B. Brannon.
Pallbearers will be Lance Radley, Jack Guarisco, Lonnie Dugas, Jack Middleton, Huey Jones and Alton Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers are Mark and John Wascom, Louie Moore, Mike and Steve Miller, Don Ellis, Bob Murray and Harris Hathaway.
She was a member of Walker Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Walker Baptist Church Building Fund or the Cancer Society of Greater Baton Rouge.
