Buried:
- A retired tractor mechanic, he died at 4:35 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice in Baton Rouge. He was 66, a native of Watson and a former resident of Walker.
Visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Friday, Sept. 24, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at Walker Baptist Church on Saturday, Sept. 25, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by Dr. Richard Blue. Burial in Sibley Cemetery, Walker.
Survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Bruce Freeman, and Sue and Richard Stafford; a son, Virgil E. Wascom; a sister and brother-in-law, Bessie and Marvin Givens; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bartett and Carolyn Wascom, and Curtis and Paula Wascom; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friend, Rita Wheat.
Preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Catherine S. Wascom; father, Berlin K. Wascom; and mother and stepfather, Erna S. and Herbert Vidrine.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Randy Cazalot, Josh Hughes, Landon Freeman, Chase Wascom, Vance Stubbs and Austin Stafford. He was a member of Walker Baptist Church.
