- John W. Stafford Sr.
COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for John W. Stafford Sr., 77, of Sparta will be held Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Pharris Cemetery.
Family will receive friends today, Monday, Sept. 17, from 6-9 p.m. and Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 7 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Mr. Stafford died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at Life Care Center of Sparta.
He was born Dec. 8, 1929, in Jackson County to the late Pink and Helen Keith Stafford.
Mr. Stafford was a self-employed mechanic.
His family includes four sons and a daughter-in-law, John Stafford II of Nevada, David Stafford of Michigan, Joseph Stafford and Robert and Karen Stafford, all of Sparta; two daughters and sons-in-law, Andrea and Daryl Ennis and Brenda and Doyle Britto, all of Arkansas; a brother, Kenneth Stafford of Michigan; two sisters, Lala Haney of Cookeville and Maylene Dillon of Petersburg; 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Stafford was preceded in death by a daughter, Sylvia Lynn Stafford, and four sisters, Louettia Ramsey, Ethel Pippin, Willie Farmer and Gladys Martin.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Bro. Johnny Fox will officiate the services.
