- Daughter of George and Ina Shanks Hyman, Elizabeth married Harold B. Stafford, who preceded her in death on April 21, 1981.
She graduated from Young America High School in Young America, Indiana and from Ball State University with degrees in business, music and home economics. After teaching at Lake Cicott and Peru, she married and had children. She later earned an elementary education degree from Indiana University-Kokomo, and then taught at Galveston Elementary until her retirement in the late 1970's. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Kokomo.
Mrs. Stafford was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Randolph Stafford; and five siblings.
