  Jess S. Strong, 65, DeSoto, died late Thursday evening following a long illness. He was born in Delaware County and spent his entire life in this community. He was employed at Warner Machine Products before his illness. Mr. Strong was a member of the White Chapel Church. Surviving are his wife, Edith; daughter, Mrs. Merrill Richey, Worcester, Mass.; a son, James L. Strong, Muncie; and six grandchildren. Services will be at White Chapel Church at 10 a.m. Monday with Rev. Ralph R. Johnson, Elwood, and Rev. Chester Justice officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory. Friends may call at Meeks Mortuary after 6 p.m. Saturday.
