- Harley L. Hardsog, a long time resident of Muncie, died Monday in Ball Hospital following a long illness.
Born in Hartford City, Hardsog came to Muncie, where he attended Muncie High School and Eastern Indiana Normal Institute (now Ball State University).
Hardsog served in ROTC during World War I. He was an employee of Excel Manufacturing Co. for almost 50 years before retiring and was a member of High Street United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Florence V.; two daughters, Mrs. DArrell McConnell, Muncie, and Mrs. Wanda Powell, Cincinnati; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Lewellen, Mt. Dora, Fla.; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Meeks Mortuary with burial following at Elm Ridge Cemetery. Dr. S. Walton Cole, pastor of High Street United Methodist Church, will officiate. Calling will be at the mortuary from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and prior to the services Wednesday.
