- Harry E. Shroyer, 68, former owner of S. and S. Coin Shop, died Tuesday morning at Ball Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born in Muncie, the son of Edwin and Mary Landon Shroyer, attended Garfield Elementary School, graduated from Central High School and attended Muncie Normal Institute, now Ball State. He was a member of the football and wrestling teams at Central and the football team at Ball State, and later played professional football.
Mr. Shroyer was self-employed many years before his retirement, and earlier was employed at Ball Corp. and Chrysler Corp., New Castle. He was a member of College Avenue United Methodist Church, Muncie Coin Club and Indiana State Numismatic Association.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Mary Jo) Fleenor, Muncie, and Mrs. Linda Cornett and his granddaughter, Lisa Ann Cornett, both of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Hefferline, Michigan, and Mrs. Margaret Legg, Muncie; his mother-in-law, Mary Leona Stafford, Muncie; a niece and a nephew. His wife, Pauline, died Jan. 26, 1978.
Services will be in Meeks Mortuary at 10 a.m. Thursday, with Rev. Allan Byrne and Rev. Don Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in Elm Ridge.
Friends may call at the mortuary 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today and any time before services Thursday.
