- ALBANY--Gordon Stafford, age 65, Muncie, died Wednesday night at Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation of Muncie.
Born in Portland on December 23, 1946, he was the son of Cloyd and Opal (Huffman) Stafford. Gordon graduated from Monroe Central High School in 1964 and farmed for several years in Randolph, Jay, and Delaware Counties until retiring in 1996. He is a former member of Fairview United Methodist Church and a member of Halfway Lodge No. 298, Redkey, where he became a Past Master in 1974.
He is survived by his sister, Judy Hayes (husband-Perry) of Albany; a niece, Lisa Barlow (companion-Kenton) of Muncie; a nephew, P.D. Hayes (wife-Shelly) of Albany; four great-nieces, Rhaea Riggin (fiance-Colton Hayden) of Muncie, Tanna Riggin of Muncie, Logan Hayes of Albany, and Tori Barlow of Yorktown; a great-nephew, Devin Lawson of Albany; and a great-great-nephew, Silas Hayden of Muncie.
Gordon is preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, with burial following at Strong Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
