Kenneth Jefferson Kiser, 88 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, September 25th, 2008.
Kenneth was born in Paris, Kentucky on September 3rd, 1920, son of the late William Skinner Kiser and Cordelia Harley Kiser. Kenneth served in the United States Army and served in World War II. He was a retired meat cutter for the A & P Grocery. One of his favorite hobbies was gardening especially attending to his flowers. He was of the Baptist faith and he attended First Baptist Church.
Kenneth was survived by one son, Jefferson G. (and Martha) Kiser of Somerset, Kentucky; one daughter Roberta K. Kiser of Lexington, Kentucky; one grandchild, Anna Louise Kiser of Somerset, Kentucky; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, William Skinner Kiser, who departed this life on April 17th, 1966 and Cordelia Kiser, who departed this life on June 1st, 1964; his loving wife of 58 years, Louise Garland Kiser, whom he married in Somerset, Kentucky on September 11th, 1943 and who departed this life on December 22nd, 2001; and one brother, William Harley Kiser.
Visitations were held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 28th, 2008 at the Somerset Undertaking Company and Crematory in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 29th, 2008 in the Chapel of the Somerset Undertaking Company and Crematory with Rev. Daniel J. Garland officiating.
Special military honors were provided by the American Legion Post #38.
Burial followed in the Burnside Cemetery in Burnside, Kentucky.
