Rosalyn Thyra Splichal
Rosalyn Thyra Splichal, daughter of Harold and Florence Leeding Stafford, was born March 10, 1911, at Republic County, Kansas, and died December 4, 1996, at Ellsworth County Hospital, at the age of 85 years.
She was a homemaker and a registered nurse.
She was united in marriage to Dr. William F. Splichal on December 26, 1934, at Belleville, Kansas, and to this union five children were born.
She was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church of Ellsworth, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William, and daughter, Elizabeth.
She is survived by a son, Bill Splichal of San Jose, California; three daughters, Janet Hunsicker of St. Louis, Missouri; Helen Brewer of Sacramento, California; Susan Splichal of Ellsworth, Kansas; a brother Dale Stafford of Scandia, Kansas; three sisters, Gwendolyn Walter of Belleville, Kansas; Marjorie Ogren of Kansas City, Missouri; Ruby McShane of Shawnee Mission, Kansas; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral mass was held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 9, 1996, at Holy Name Catholic Church, Topeka, Kansas, with Father Harold F. Schneider officiating and Parish Vigil Service at 4 p.m. at Parsons Funeral Home with Father Dan Scheetz officiating.
Burial was made in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
