Heaven received another angel when Annie Melton Stafford went home Jan. 10, 2011.
She was born November 15, 1916, in Chesterfield County, S.C., a daughter of the late Theodore and Cora Melton.
Mrs. Stafford was a homemaker and a member of Cobb Memorial Baptist Church for sixty eight years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Stafford and two brothers, Thurman and Mae Melton.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14 at Cobb Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Chuck McKnight and Rev. Alex Willoughby officiating.
Interment will follow in Richmond Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 7:30 pm at Cobb Memorial Baptist Church and other times at the home.
Mrs. Stafford is survived by two sons, John Henry Stafford and wife Carol and Jerry Stafford and wife Dianne, all of Rockingham; two daughters, Juanita Conner and husband Brooks (Red) of Statesville and Jean Brown of the home; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers, T.L. Melton of Rockingham, Rudolph Melton of Bennettsville, S.C. and Graylon Melton of Blythe, Calif.; and one sister, Bibb Cassidy of Cheraw.
