  Nancy MUNSEY (MUNCY?) [S1] was born in 1783/1784 in Montgomery Co. (Now Giles Co.), VA [S6]. Died in 1808 in Giles Co., VA [S6]. John Denton Carter, THE MUNSEY ANCESTORS OF RHODA MUNSEY WEEMS CARTER (1814-1899) OF RUSSELL COUNTY, VIRGINIA, AND NEWTON COUNTY, MISSOURI (Typescript in Library of Congress [CS71.M792 1969]) does not link that family directly to this Nancy Munsey, but it appears that she may have been a daughter of Skidmore Munsey. The ancestors I have entered of Nancy Munsey are based on that possibility and it may be wrong. Carter mentions a work that might clear up the question: Mary Edith Shaw, THE DESCENDANTS OF FRANCIS MUNCY I AND ALLIED FAMILIES (1948), a copy of which is in the DAR library of Washington, DC. Buried: Grave has not been located. Most likely at Staffordsville Cemetery, Giles Co.Va. Daughter of Holton & Alice (Layne) Muncy
