  Earl was the son of Earl E. Sang, Sr. & Lydia E. McLaughin. He was a veteran of the US Marines serving during World War II. Earl was widely known as Bob Sang, the head football coach of several KY and WV high schools, last coaching at Huntington High until his retirement. He married Marlene Elizabeth Stafford, who preceded him in 2001. He was survived by one daughter, four sons, seven grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
