  Phillip Stafford, age 59, of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Mr Stafford was born on December 11, 1951, a son of Dorthalene "Dot" Ison Fugate of Flatwoods, Kentucky and the late James Milton Stafford. Phillip was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator employed at AK Steel and Addington Inc. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by his step-father, Billy Fugate. In addition to his mother he is survived by one son, Benjamin Stafford of Vanceburg, Kentucky, one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Anthony Adkins of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, one grandson, Devin Adkins of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, one brother, Jack Stafford of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, one sister, Debbie Arthur of Flatwoods, Kentucky. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m Thursday, July 21, 2011, in the chapel of the Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, with Bro. George Stafford and Bro. Jason Ison officiating. Burial will follow in the Adkins Cemetery on Brown Ridge. Friends may call after 6:00 p.m Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m Thursday until the service hour.
